Emery finished up kindergarten this month. They had a cute program to sing for the parents and receive their diploma. Mrs. Mayfield and Mrs. Bishop were great teachers for Emery this year. He really had a good year. It was a bit of an adjustment for everyone when summer began, but Lucy really liked having Emery to play with more. Of coarse they did fight more too! That's life!
Joel had 2 trips for work this month. One to Alabama for just 3 days and the other to Mexico for a week. I always worry just a bit when he goes away, but he made it back safe and sound :)
Emery had 2 birthday parties this month for his friends Sam and Tyler, who turned 7. One was an angry birds party and the other was a race car driver party. Their mom's did an awesome job and Emery had so much fun!
I found a large snake skin in our backyard that made me a little uneasy. Yuck! But, we are pretty sure it's one that eats mice so hopefully it will just stay away from us!
Joel's team at work planned a day at lake Keowee. We had a picnic lunch, played in the water, and took a boat ride. It was quite a long day with the 2hr drive each way and Andy missing his nap. But, it was fun to see people Joel works with and we all had a lot of fun on the boat ride!
For father's day the kids loved to spoil daddy with cards, kisses, and I-love-you's. I made my famous baby back ribs for dinner. They are fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious! Yum. We love to spoil daddy!
Andy is our little explorer finding all sorts of yummy snacks on the floor and even sampling the shoes quite frequently. Silly boy!
We spent a lot of time outside when the weather was nice. If it got too hot, we just pull out the little pool! One day Emery caught a little frog to play with. I wonder if it is the same one he played with the past 2 years? Is he dumb enough to keep coming back? Yep. Probably. Almost every night our little frog sits at our back door snacking on bugs attracted to the light. I bet it's quite a buffet!
My sister Andrea and her family came for a visit this month too. They are moving from Florida back to Utah soon, so they wanted to come for a quick visit before they leave.
Lucy is become quite the little 3 year old! She is very emotional, opinionated, and bossy. I have a hard time getting a good picture of her anymore because she always pulls a silly face or opens her mouth wide. I am working on patience :)
And, sadly, I had to say goodbye to one of my good friends, Laisa. She and her family are moving to Boston. :( But, we had a few fun times before she left. We had our last girl's night out at Brick Street Cafe. And we had one more night of watching Pride and Prejudice and eating caramel corn.
