Andrew: 12 months

Our little Andrew is 1! Our sweet little baby has turned into a curious, strong, funny, and handsome little guy! He is 25.5 lbs (83%) and 33.5" (99.78%). He is wearing 24 month size clothes and size 4 shoes. He loves to climb stairs, open cupboards and drawers, and explore toilets, garages, and refrigerators! We finally put locks on the cupboards in the kitchen. He wasn't too happy about that! But he still pulls everything out of the drawer under the oven and gets into the pantry when he can. He loves to put things in his mouth! One of his favorite things is to get in our recycle bin and pull out cardboard to chew on. He cannot be trusted with board books (or regular books for that matter) because they go straight into his mouth! He loves to play ball- he'll throw it to you and then he laughs and laughs when you roll it back. He also loves a toy we have that has little rattle balls that you put at the top and they roll down a spiral slide thing. He gets really excited when they come back out. He loves to play with cars too. He's started taking steps! And I'm sure he'll be walking around all the time soon! But what is loves the most are his brother and sister and playing outside! He calls out for them when he hears them or sees them. It's sort of just AHHHHHH!  However, very recently he is preferring to have Mommy around. He used to not care if I'd set him down and walk away to do something. Within the last week or so he's starting to get upset. He's also gotten a little sad a few times when I've tried to leave him at the child care at the gym. But, he did seem to calm down after a minute. I guess the separation anxiety is beginning! He has also just recently been resisting being buckled in the carseat. Not every time, but at least half the time. Especially if he's tired.
He take 4 bottles of milk a day and is completely weaned. He also eats 3 meals and 1 snack each day. He sleeps from 6:30 or 7pm until 7 or 7:30am. He takes (usually) 2 naps a day at 10am and 2pm for approximately 40-90 minutes depending on the day. He loves apples, yogurt, cheese, grapes, chicken, and blueberries. He likes to drink water with his meals too. He tried apple juice once, but preferred the water. It's funny to me that he occasionally doesn't like what I try to feed him; he does try to eat crazy things like leaves and mulch. Well, maybe he just wants to chew on it, not eat- maybe that's the difference! He keeps us busy but we can't imagine our family without him!
