Charlie is one month old already! He weighs 9 lbs. 14oz. (44%) and is 22.5" (60%). His first month was a bit of a roller coaster. He had 4 really hard days with lots of crying. As he's transitioning to having more awake time (and not always falling asleep after nursing) he finds it very inconvenient soothing himself to sleep! He is learning though and while he still usually cries when tired, is better at calming down if I put him in the sling. He's not a huge fan of the pacifier, but we keep trying and he sometimes will use it (with help-he has trouble keeping it in). Just a few days ago he also was able to get to sleep after being swaddled (which he previously didn't like). I'm hoping he'll get used to sleeping in his bed and not just in the sling or being held! He doesn't like the carseat and usually cries when he has to go in it when sleepy. Hopefully that will change! He is doing good at nursing (after having his tongue-tie clipped in the hospital). He eat about ever 2-3 hours, even through the night. He still has a full head of handsome dark brown hair. He is starting to smile frequently and we love to see him looking happy! The other kids love to have a turn to hold Charlie and don't mind too much if he cries. We all think he's a cutie! Here is a picture of his first playdate with Benjamin and Becca Dickman; they are the same age as Charlie!
How time flies! He is so handsome! I'm happy for you that he is learning those important skills, even if they aren't too fun to learn.
